June 6-11, 2018

One of Europe's most beautiful cities, Krakow offers spectacular venues including the Karlowicz Music School, the Krakow Philharmonic Hall, and magnificent Baroque churches. Choirs from around the world attend the Krakow International Choral Festival to perform adjudicated and non-adjudicated concerts in these venues, to listen to other choirs from across Europe and around the world, and to connect with fellow singers during meals, concerts, and receptions.

Krakow's incredibly rich culture is expressed in its countless churches adorned with Baroque and Gothic interiors, its vibrant Jewish town, and its world famous Philharmonic orchestra. Krakow's stunning city center is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Morning arrival at Krakow’s John Paul II International Airport. Your Music Contact International tour manager will greet you. Together, board your waiting motor coach and transfer to your hotel in Krakow's city center.

Check in to the hotel and join your tour manager on an orientation walk of Krakow’s historic city center. In the evening, enjoy a special welcome dinner.

Following breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of the 14th century Wawel Castle, one of Poland's most historically and culturally important sites. Now one of the country’s premier art museums, the castle was a royal residence and symbol of Polish statehood for centuries.

When your tour concludes, youth choirs will visit a local school and perform for the Polish students, followed by time for cultural exchange. Adult choirs will enjoy free time to explore the historic city center.

Tonight, your choir will perform a program of your choice during the festival opening concert at St. Mary's Basilica. You will also have the opportunity to hear the other participating choirs from across Europe and beyond.

After breakfast, perform an adjudicated concert at the Karlowicz Music School. Following your performance, listen to the other choirs perform.

After a group lunch, visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine, an impressive array of underground tunnels and chambers created over the past 600 years by salt mining. Some of the mine's chambers have been transformed into chapels. Perform a brief concert nearly 1,400 feet underground in one of the mine's largest chapels!

Tonight, perform a concert at a magnificent local venue such as the Church of St. Anne, the Piarist Church, or St. Peter and Paul's Church. You will also be able to hear other festival choirs perform.

This morning, perform during Mass in one of Krakow’s beautiful churches. Alternatively, an excursion to the former concentration camps in Auschwitz and Birkenau can be arranged for your group.This morning, perform during Mass in one of Krakow’s beautiful churches. In the late afternoon, gather at the Krakow Philharmonic Hall for the Festival Closing Ceremony. Each participating choir will perform one song, festival awards will be presented, and a festive farewell dinner will be served. There will be ample time to recount the many highlights of the festival!

    Prague, reminiscent of a fairy tale city, has four breathtaking districts, each with their own style: The Castle District, the Lesser Town, linking the Castle area to the Old Town, the Old Town across the Vltava River, and the New Town, aptly named as it was founded only in the 14th century!

    A Day One

    Arrival in Prague. Enjoy a guided walking tour. Afternoon hotel check-in. Dinner in the Old Town will give you a “taste” of the culture and traditions of this intriguing city.

    Day Two

    After breakfast, visit Prague Castle; then perhaps stroll across Charles Bridge or visit the Dvorak Museum. After some free time for lunch, return to the hotel to refresh. This afternoon a performance opportunity is arranged for the group at the historic St. Nicolas Church on the Old town Square. This evening, dinner can be arranged for the choir upon request.
  • A The capital city of Poland is steeped in history and was painstakingly rebuilt after the second World War. Castle Square and the Old Town, now designated a UNESCO World Heritage site are picturesque places to visit in the summer! Enjoy strolling the different squares and performing in a central church in Warsaw.

    Arrival in Warsaw. Enjoy a guided walking tour. Afternoon hotel check-in. Tonight, your tour manager would be happy to provide dining suggestions.

    Day Two

    After breakfast in the hotel dining room, enjoy the morning free in Warsaw. This afternoon perform in a historic downtown church. Afterwards explore the nooks and crannies of the Old Town; then celebrate over a farewell dinner of typical Polish specialties!
