HOLLYWOOD

When D.W. Griffith decided to make his silent film “In Old California” in the village of Hollywood in 1910, nobody knew that the location would swiftly grow into the home of the country’s entertainment industry. That same year, Hollywood merged with the city of Los Angeles. In 1911, the Nestor Company was established as the first movie studio in the district. By the 1920s, the motion picture business in Hollywood was the fifth largest industry in the entire nation. Hollywood is home to a collection of historic theaters and monuments such as Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Hollywood Bowl & the Dolby Theatre—home of the Academy Awards since 2002. Today, approximately 80,000 people live in Hollywood, making it a densely populated and ethnically diverse neighborhood of individuals who all live within a stone’s throw of the ever-famed sign that continues to pull in millions of visitors each year.

FRIENDSHIP CONCERTS

Our friendship concerts are a featured experience on our tours and are at the heart of our mission to foster cultural connections through music. We benefit from a vast international network in the choral world built over our thirty years' experience of helping choirs share their music both in the United States and abroad. Your choir will share a venue and a concert program with a host choir from the region. Your singers will have the chance to hear their host choir's repertoire (often showcasing local musical styles) and to share your own repertoire in turn. Fellowship time usually follows the friendship concert, giving both choirs the chance to mingle and enjoy the camaraderie of creating cross-cultural connections through a shared love of music.

DISNEY PERFORMING ARTS

While visiting Disneyland Park, your ensemble's vocal prowess will be displayed before an international audience or on the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree stage at Disneyland® Park. Disney Performing Arts OnStage offers your ensemble the opportunity to perform, learn and have fun while doing it:

SANTA MONICA

For years, Santa Monica has offered visitors the opportunity to step into the past and observe a famous vacation destination that has managed to maintain its popularity over the years. By the late 19th century, tens of thousands of people were flocking to the resort town of Santa Monica for its beaches, ocean views and agreeable climate. Without a doubt, its most enticing feature is the Santa Monica Pier—a boardwalk complete with games, shops, entertainment and rides. In the 1980s, citizens of Santa Monica pushed for a revitalization of the town and the pier, resulting in an influx of tourism that has allowed the town to keep its stellar reputation alive.
