Travel to Rome and participate in the Roma in Canto International Festival of Sacred Music. Your choir will have the opportunity to perform during High Mass at St. Peter's Basilica alongside choirs from around the globe. Explore historic Ancient Rome and the remarkable Roman Colosseum with an expert guide and enjoy local cuisine with your choir at a restaurant in central Rome. The mass, directed by Maestro Fabio Avolio of the Pontifical Liturgical Institute of Sant’Anselmo University in Rome and director of the Choir of Aventino in Rome, will feature the following repertoire:

In addition to performing in St. Peter's, your choir will also have the opportunity to perform as part of a concert series at another beautiful church in Rome.

Arrive this morning in Rome. Your Music Contact International tour manager will greet your group at the airport. Together, transfer to your hotel to check in. Embark on an afternoon guided tour of Ancient Rome, including the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Enjoy learning about the ancient history of Rome as you stroll through the well preserved ruins. Tonight, a welcome dinner is served at a local restaurant serving delicious Roman cuisine.

Transfer to the morning massed sing rehearsal. Following the rehearsal, perform two songs for a panel of Roman choral directors to receive constructive feedback.
Enjoy time to visit the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps and to try an Italian gelato. This evening, transfer to a Roman church to sing a concert for an appreciative local audience.

Start the day at Vatican City and the Basilica of St. Peter. There will be a morning rehearsal with all participating choirs of the repertoire for Holy Mass at St. Peter's. There will be a break in the afternoon for lunch and a visit to the Vatican Museums can be arranged. This evening, sing the Holy Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica featuring the Massed Choir with all participating festival choirs under the direction of Maestro Fabio Avolio, from the Pontifical Liturgical Institute of Sant’Anselmo University in Rome and director of the Choir of Aventino. After the mass, the remainder of the evening is free to explore Rome. Your tour manager will be glad to make suggestions for dinner options.

This morning, transfer to the Vatican to meet all participating choirs and to attend General Audience with the Pope. The afternoon is free to explore Rome further. Stroll through Piazza Navona and marvel at the spectacular Pantheon. This evening your choir will enjoy a farewell dinner served at a local Roman restaurant. Following dinner, transfer to a prestigious Roman Basilica to meet with all participating choirs for the Evening Festival Closing Concert. Each choir will perform three pieces from their repertoire. The ceremony will culminate with a commemorative plaque presentation.
