October 12 – 15, 2017
The director’s Orientation Trip for the Verona International Choral Competition is a four day event, taking place October 12 – 15, 2017 (departing North America on October 11th).
Upon arrival in Italy, your Music Contact International tour manager will greet you at the airport. Together, transfer to your hotel located along the shores of Lake Garda. There will be time to refresh from your journey before taking an Orientation Walk with sightseeing and time for lunch. Dinners are arranged nightly in the hotel dining room, where you will meet and dine with other directors whose choirs will participate in the April festival.
Over the course of the weekend, enjoy an excursion to Venice to see famed sites such as the Grand Canal, the Bridge of Sighs, St. Mark’s Basilica and the Rialto Bridge. Travel to Verona to see the competition venue, the Teatro Nuovo, or Palazzo Gran Guardia. Meet with Festival organizers to ask questions about the competition, participation categories and repertoire.
The Complimentary Orientation Trip is an invaluable opportunity to preview the venues, hotels and to discuss program points of the Festival. Your travel to Verona, Italy is complimentary including airfare from New York’s JFK Airport, accommodations, ground transportation and most meals. This Orientation Trip is for the choir director or official representative of each registered choir. Participation is not required, although the weekend is extremely helpful for visualizing the components of the Festival. If you are unable to attend the Orientation Trip, Music Contact International is happy to relay any specific questions to the Festival organizers on your behalf.
